This project formed the third and final phase of the relighting of one of the most beautiful cathedrals in the north of England.

With the nave and west end already lighting projects complete, Light Perceptions was commissioned to relight the choir aisles and altars. These are the busiest areas for visitors and also used for congregants at larger services.

The new lighting works with the existing preset control system, with uplights to the lime washed vaulting, carefully and inconspicuously positioned on the column capitals of the choir arcading. Additional miniature LEDs provide delicate uplighting to the narrow ribs of the vaulting.
