The “Recycle It” gallery in Birmingham’s Science Museum showcases a popular environmental theme.
Pupils visit a landfill site & follow Wendy Worm into the compost heap to find out what can be put into a compost bin. They see the journey a drinks can takes as it is recycled and made back into a can to be sold again. Finally they sort out what can be reduced, reused and recycled in a lunch box challenge.
The lighting design matches this environmental theme and was the first non-halogen lit gallery in the museum. All of the luminaires used high efficiency metal halide spotlights in this simple but very effective scheme.
