“Seized” the UK Border Agency Merseyside Maritime Museum

Light Perceptions

Project Type: Gallery Lighting Project
Exhibition Designers: At large
Completed: 2007
Case Study No: 3144

This fascinating exhibition features the tools of the modern day smuggling trade as seen through the eyes of those who police our borders. Methods of detection and monitoring are used to highlight how today’s smugglers are caught – despite the increasing clever technology that is employed.

The gallery is set in the low level barrel vaulted rooms of the Merseyside Maritime Museum. A careful combination of track mounted spotlighting, reflected uplighting and display case lighting is used to highlight and enhance the exhibits.
