This new gallery at Think Tank; Birmingham’s Science Museum, takes the visitor on a journey through the intellectual wealth and history of manufacturing in Birmingham and the West Midlands.
Exhibits include full scale cars, motorbikes and bicycles; there is working original machinery including lathes, screw turners and milling machines as well as jewellery and the products and paraphernalia of many other local craftsmanship.
The lighting helps to provide different environments for interior and exterior settings with subtle changes in colour temperature and projection.
There is interactive lighting amongst the moving machinery and integral lighting to a variety of display cases and large objects.
